May Fair Day 2014

It was a wet morning when we got up and setup the square ready for the days festivities, but the weather did improve for the main event and got even better for our afternoon audience participation competition.

The Cavaliers Dancers hade been practicing for several months and had perfected their "Blues Brothers" dance for this year. Thanks to Julie Brough for teaching them to dance, it must have been a nightmare for her!

Whilst the crowning of the May Queen ceremony was taking place we all supported the finances of the town by frequenting a few of the pubs after which we returned to build the pitch for our Human Table Top Football competition. The pitch was build of scaffolding and looked brilliant when it was completed. We had 16 teams of 5 who were all competing for the £50 prize.

Our newest member Adam Pike was the referee and many yellow cards were given along with 2 Red cards reulting in the 2 players being sent off. It was a fantastic event and the feed back we have had was really good. Thanks to Andrew Morris for coming up with the idea!
