Trumpton - March 14th 2015

Another good team today. The ground was a mass of mud which didn't help much but good progress was made.

As you can see from the photo below there is a new building being constructed in the foreground this will ultimately be some shops but for the time being it will be a waterproof workshop where all the detailed woodwork can be carried out.

and the roof is being tiled:

Wayne Stapleton (a member) shifted the scaffolding from the Windmill to the Clock Tower of the Town Hall so we can get on with that;

Andrew Morris (our Captain) is building the dome for the windmill as you can see this is rather a complex task. A friend of the Cavalier's Rudy Zurgaskis has made the mechanism for the sails so that they rotate. The Cavaliers thank Rudy for his work.

Both the mechanism and dome will be lowered into place using a crane, please keep your eye on here for the date of the crane work or subscribe to our newsletter, this event is quite a spectacle and not to be missed.

Not all the members have building skills, my self included and Bernie Wittram showed how good he was by nailing his glove to the board narrowly missing his finger!

We had a test burn today, but thankfully Pugh, Pugh, Barney, Mcgrew, Cuthbert, Dibble and Grub prevented it spreading to the main structure!
