All the food has been expertly prepared, and they are delicacies in the country of there origin. All the dishes have been fully cooked and no live creatures were eaten.

The food was brought to the tables where the competitors waited for the starting whistle, when they can start eating as quickly as possible. When they finished each dish they had to put their hand up, upon which a steward checked whether they had swallowed all the food or not.

The competitors were eliminated in ones or twos depending on the dish, or numbers in the contest, the last one in each round was eliminated, plus anyone not eating the food was eliminated from the contest.

Here are a few pictures of the contest.
