Our Chairman of 12 years hands over the reins.

We held an EGM on Friday 3rd August because our Chairman, Chris Stacey, who had led the Cavaliers for 12 years has decided to hand of the reins to Steve Young who was the Vice Chairman. Chris has steered us through 2 major bonfires; HMS Victory in 2005 and the Torrington Castle in 2010 and also the fantastic Jubilee beacon event in June. Chris is well know for his love of pasties and must be a shareholder of Ginsters by now! Daren Nudds, our Captain was away on holiday but he sent a giant pasty to the meeting for him! Chris was also presented with a Harry Juniper jug depicting his time as Chairman of the Cavaliers. All the Cavaliers members contributed to this gift which I am sure will take pride of place in his house. Steve took the helm and the meeting continued. one item on the agenda was the next major bonfire, so Steve will be in charge for his first major event within a few years. Keep you eye on this space for more information as it becomes available. With Steve Taking the post of chairman there was obvioulsy a vacancy for Vice Chairman. There was only one nomination and he was proud to accept the post. The new Vice Chairman is Mark keeley. Well done to you both you will both have the full support of your Cavaliers colleagues.
