The Weare Gifford fete & beer festival.

The Torrington Cavaliers again won the tug o war, townies triumphed over the country boys. It was a nice surprise to see some of the cast of Last of the Summer Wine visit the event. They are seated on the settee under the guise of Misters, Hedden, Pickard & Jones.

Once again the Lord Mayor of the village Kenny Wheeler made everyone welcome and elder villager Howard Curtis was on hand to tell the tale.

A BIG thank you to everyone for making us welcome we all look forward to next year.

CAVALIERS FUND RAISING WEEKEND

The Torrington Cavaliers had a fund raising weekend recently where we organised, along with The Vine Trust, a race night at The Torridge Vale Social Club. Thanks to race sponsors, horse owners and the good crowd of would be punters we raised in total over £820.

Farewell to Judd Bond

The Cavaliers bid a fond farewell to Judd Bond who passed away suddenly on Thursday 31st July 2008. Judd was a "character" and had been a member of the Cavaliers from the very early days. He was "Torrington" through and through, always working for the town with the Cavaliers, The Town Trustees, St Michaels Church and the Town Council and other local organisations. He will be deeply missed.

"Please say hello to our Vern and Ken when you get up there Judd."
